原来用JBuilder，后来试者用了一下IDEA，结果让我失望。
1.不能为我自动打包成jar或其他打包文件。
2.只能使用Tomcat服务器，不能和其他服务器集成。
3.Tab键的功能太差。

以上仅为个人观点

一定是习惯了JBuilder的CodeFormat的功能！
因为，JBuilder 8中，Tab 键的功能是CodeFormat！

IDEA 当中， Ctrl+Alt+L 就可以重新格式化，也很方便。

都是个人习惯问题！
我觉得没个人都有自己的习惯，不要受别人的左右，凡事都应该自己决定。
别人的建议终究是建议，在条件允许的条件下，可以尝试一下，也许对自己是一个提高的机会。

也许是他的希望太高了，想像得太完美了，也许是大家太过于推崇了。每个人用了都有自己的感受，所以现在并不是大家都在用ＩＤＥＡ，就象小说里面大家喜欢的武器各不相同。

我现在使用eclipse比较顺手，感觉jb很麻烦。

idea和eclipse有什么比较大的不同呢？

idea 要是能和各应用服务器配合就好，现在用他开发j2ee确实不方便。
要只是j2se的话，我是认为idea 强过jbuilder 好多。

我就是一直开发j2ee方面的project，现在也用idea，原来用过jb，elipse
我的观点就是，不一定要什么都整进去，只要达到自己的要求就好，为什么一定要IDE帮你打jar，ant就可以，idea可以整合ant，写一个ant的xml script就可以做这件事了，而且还可以更加随意的定制打jar的过程或添加其他task
都整合进去的最大缺陷就是慢，我以前用jb时，下过2个jboss插件，一个添加jboss作为ejb server，一个可以在jb中实现jboss中的j2ee组件自动发布，这下简单了，编码，编译，启动jboss，热发布，debug都在jb里干，但后来我实在受不了那个速度，干脆还是自己在外面用shell自己起jboss，效率反而更高
所以说，还是看自己的需求，idea在coding方面的确很舒坦，它的refactor,complete,coding optimize的功能的确可以让你省很多事，但如果你并不强调这方面的感受，更注重发布或者建模等，就不一定要选择它了

一般来说，绝大多数情况我都写BMP的，因为CMP的总在某些时候完不成需求，也就是flexibility不够
idea对ejb的支持虽然没有别的如jb强大，不过也够了，能生成框架，再自己写，或者根据discriptor自动生成

我赞成yavour的看法，太依赖工具就会丧失了自己，其实用ant挺好的。对于IDE，我只希望用它来编码，集成那么多干什么？

我也觉得不能依赖工具，当你明白了原理以后你就反而会觉得工具没有什么作用，不过工具能提高工作效率倒是真的，呵呵！
我不同意yavour的一个看法，你为什么认为CMP总完不成需求那？
CMP 2.0 和CMR还不满足你的要求么？

同意楼上的观点，弥留于工具中最终只能成为工具的俘虏，毕竟好的技术是需要人来实现的，记得上scjp的课程时老师就讲他去sun培训的时候，看到那些程序员都是用非常简单的工具进行编程的，这样很多的类都在他们的脑子里面，不需要非借助于工具才行！

因为比较小，并且功能有一定的局限性（同大型IDE比较），所以适用范围也有一定的限制，但并没有楼主说的那么差，可以使用插件扩展其功能。
