我现在能用keystore和keytool生成证书，也能用证书签名别的证书，可是证书是干什么用的？

证书是用一个私钥生成的，这个私钥并没有告诉用户，但是用户还是能打开经过root签名的证书(windows能打开)，而且能看到里面的内容，有什么意义？
