quo by itself has no meaning. Phrase "status quo" is commonly used to describe something that haven't changed for a long time.
Most close meaning in Chinese would be "bao(3) chi(2) xian(4) zhuang(4)". number means 4 tones of pronounciation. I can't type Chinese at work.
For example, 1. The fall of the Berlin wall symbolized the end of status quo between US and Russia's cold war that lasted several decades.
2. By using Internet direct marketing, Dell has rapidly transformed itself into the bigger computer seller in US, while most of its competitors maintained status quo and only sell through traditional channels.
