Evans Data Corp recently ran a Web Services Development Survey which showed that Java was ahead of the curve on 5 our of 6 categories. The categories that Java took top honors in were: Flow control ; Syntax ; Object/memory separation ; Easy access to libraries, and Tight integration with XML. The one category where Java placed second was Tight integration with SOAP just behind Microsoft's C#.

what does "ahead of the curve on 5 our of 6 categories" mean?

I guess it should be
ahead of the curve on 5 of our 6 categories
(yes, yes, yes, should be "5 out of 6 categories, dorrenchan is definitely right downstairs)

And I guess you can tell the meaning of "ahead of the curve" from its words. Smile

I think it should be "ahead of the curve on 5 OUT of 6 categories".

"ahead of the curve" is just a fancy way to say better.

Corporate management consultants will write anything that make themselves look smart. the trend is getting so out of control that someone created bullfigher http://www.dc.com/insights/bullfighter/index.asp , to eliminate unnecessary fancy words and jargon.
