host [ hōst ]

noun (plural hosts)

1. somebody entertaining guests: somebody who invites, welcomes, and entertains guests, often providing them with food and drink

2. broadcasting somebody introducing guests on a show: somebody who presents and interviews guests on a radio or television program

3. place where an event is held: a place or organization that provides the space and facilities for a special event, for example, an international sporting competition
