以前在学校学的c/c++，毕业后一直关注java，在外企混了这么多年了，眼看年纪也快一大把了，仍然喜欢技术，决定放弃system manager的管理岗位，继续做技术，可把简历投出去，还是失望，

难道java错了，难道做企业应用错了？

不过即使现在google给我offer 我也要考虑再三了

决定放弃system manager的管理岗位，继续做技术


I don't think that is a good idea.

If you like 技术, you can do 技术 when you are a system manager.

You have a good position, you can decide what to do on your position!!!!

楼主可能太关注java企业应用了，钻得太深了，，
java,企业应用已经成了很大众化的代名词了，跟昔日delphi的大众化已经很像了，，
不妨把眼光放宽一点

在企业应用领域也作了不少年了，感觉在这个领域里，技术并不是多么重要的角色，而管理（project/process/people management）和业务领域知识(e.g.如sap的consultant)才是关键所在，而技术方面只不过是拿一些成型产品、技术的堆砌。 我并不是说所有企业应用都是如此，但比例比较大。这就使得技术人员/部门始终处于从属/支持地位。

所以想去一些以软件产品为核心的地方，但国内做这些事的地方（包括外企）好像并不多阿。google,ebay做的虽然不是传统意义的软件产品，但也有一些类似的地方。但无奈internet与企业应用的领域差别，人家要求的东西咱平时没接触过啊。

同意，大部分的“企业软件”都是政府或与政府相关的单位埋单，其次就是银行金融业了，面对这样的市场，，企业软件的前头确实让人堪忧。

俺以前也是作应用类软件的，两年前转入了internet/互联网，感觉这行业
确实风险比较大，，，而且涉及的技术领域比较宽，portal optimization
,IM, vod ,,web/wap,game, search ,database admin, network admin , system admin 等等，每一方面都足够让你研究一下了,不像企业软件那样，比较专注，， 偶现在都又想回到企业软件开发了，，，Tongue

江湖险恶呀

什么企业应用呀，大部分都是在那里堆积木
至于钱途，整个领域都是在为IBM，HP等大公司买单

什么项目管理、软件工程，敏捷开发、RUP
都是狗P

什么管理的复杂性呀，扯淡

在这个领域，最顶尖的“专家”就是懂业务、了解最新技术体系、能写方案，做架构

互联网？真正能直接为社会创造价值的应用有几个？大多数都是炒作、炒作、再炒作

热血青年们，消停消停吧

That is correct! They are always paid high.

That is also my problem, lack of domain knowledge, I am always disposable... Sad

I can move from company to company, industry to industry, solve some of their problems, then move on ...

成为领域专家不失为一个好主意，技术专家也未必吃不开
关键看在什么领域混，也就是业务密集型还是技术密集型

在所谓企业应用领域，客户关心的是业务，用什么技术根本就无所谓

学习编程开发只能作为进入行业的敲门砖，或者第一推动力
至于几年之后是改行、转销售、研究业务、进入管理岗位，还是钻研某项专业技术都可以

深钻技术未必吃不开，譬如DBA，还是那些证书第一技能第二的岗位，靠经验吃饭，一样过得不错

只要注意一点，不要抱着那些变化太快、昙花一现的东西当宝贝，小心饭碗！

google 不一定适合现在的你。如果你一毕业google就给你offer你就不用犹豫了。
