Event logging framework

Does anybody know any event logging framework written in Java? Note that the event logging framework is different from those trace logging framework (e.g. log4j), I need and want a framework handles the system event logging into the database (e.g. one like Microsoft Event Viewer)

Generally speaking, event logging should be persisted into the database or some sort of file so that next time an operator could easily load them back. See oh, I have run such a test last week. Unfortunately there is not such a framework exist on the Internet now written in JAVA to fulfill my need. The JDBCAppender with the Log4j is a deprecated API and will be replaced in the future and HibernateAppender does not even in Log4j package.

If you are using Windows, go the control panel, administrative tool, and see the event view, that will give you some idea.

And any idea on this topic are welcome so feel free to write any proposal here.

Cappuccino 发贴: 49	于 2007-09-16 04:16 如果仅仅只是nt上面的话好像log4j上面有nt system event appender，但是linux平台下面就不清楚了~ log4j can direct its output to a file, the console, an java.io.OutputStream, java.io.Writer, a remote server using TCP, a remote Unix Syslog daemon, to a remote listener using JMS, to the NT EventLog or even send e-mail.
