This article must be written by someone who does not have much real-world programming experience. It makes sense to group methods that uses the same logics with minor difference in input requirements under the same name. If we are to give every method a difference, that would be crazy.

For example, System.out.print(). If no overriding is used, how do we suppose to handle it? System.out.printString(), System.out.printDouble(), ..... LOL. Imagine what his code is going to be like. Need to determine what type the input is, then you can use the right method to handle it. Sigh... That programmer would lose his marbles.
