2. get a project to work on - this is the fastest way to get started.
3. webMethods Advantage: http://advantage.webmethods.com where you can download bookshelf and other related tools.

Overall, you need to understand JMS messaging: Integration Server and Broker Server, then use developer and adapters to develop some integrations, manage using administrator, whether EAI, B2Bi, or BPM/Workflow, you need to spend time on the fundamental documents and spend some time on a few projects to deal with real-world business issues...enjoy!!!
