when I create dataSource in tomcat, it's runing well, but when I restart the tomcat, it crashs when creating MBeanServer, I do not know why and where the log is written, I have checked the all the files under the log directory.It seems like JVM exits exceptional.

I reinstalled all the stuff, but It still crashs. Alas....... crazy tomcat.

environment:
tomcat4.1.18+mysql4.0.12+jdk1.4.1+Connector/J 3.0.6 + win2000 server

there is no log recording the problem.

it is strange that it is running well after configuration, but you can not restart the tomcat.

I never use tomcat in product enviorment. So i have no idea about this if no log.

From what you said, it looks like you server is not running ok.

1. try to dump console msg to a file to see whether you can get anything.
It's not surprised that you can't get anything in there because you could screw up the setting there.
2. try to replace with the original server.xml and other conf file to see what's going on.
3. Redownload the full package and recompile your classes against it.

My guts feeling is one/some of you MBeanServer, or other classes/jars somehow got corrupted.

I chenged to tomcat 4.1.24, right now everything is fine. may be there are some bugs with integration tomcat and JDBC 3.0.6 edition.
