I just had a quick glimpse on a Windows Task Manager, with respect to the *Performance* and *Network* tabs. IMHO, this is quite a huge topic. At least you have to understand couple of things.

*Performance*
- what is CPU usage? (this might be quite straightforward)
- what is Page File
- what is Handles, threads, and processes.
- what are physical memory, in terms of total, available, system cache
- what is commit Charge, in terms of total, limit, peak
- what is kernel memory, in terms of total, page, nonpaged.

*Networking*
- what is adaptor name
- what is network utilization
- what is Link Speed
- what is a card state.

Unless you know all these answers, you can start thinking about implementation.
