一直都有新来的坛友问"如何下手JAVA"，为免版上有太多重复的话题，以后將把同类话题同并于此．
scottding这个题目挺有意思，故置顶作為引言：

2008-09-11事隔好几年，重新来看这个帖子，想想当年的意气风发，现在的干劲已经远远赶不上。

在坛子里混了很久，现在大部分时间潜水，看到很多问题，不得不说了。如果说错了请各位指出。
1，学习一门语言不能盲目，要目标明确方法妥当。
看到很多人想学习JAVA，这是好事，但是太过于盲目，至少你手头得有本参考书上手吧，虽说外面叫得很厉害JAVA如何如何容易，但是也不至于你一安装上JDK你就立马会了吧？好的参考书能让你事半功倍，推荐SUN的一本JAVA基础，白皮的，书名我忘了。
2008-09-11：目前电子书比较”风行“，不是说不好，如果说你要好好学习的话，电子书作为正式上手教材不是一个好的主意，至少你盯着屏幕看，有点累吧。而且，由于很容易得到电子书，基本上收集了一大堆，几乎没有一本能够好好看完，眼都看花了。

2，不要盲目的问问题。
不懂就问是好的，但是一遇到问题不经过自己的思考和努力就问出来是非常不好的，这代表你不求上进！学习的过程就是不断遇到问题解决问题，解决重点的是自己去探索去解决，而不是事事都靠别人！！例如HelloWorld的问题，问了不下千遍，我想每一本入门参考书上都会有相应的解释吧。即使没有，Google一下，也能搞出很多答案吧。记住，有问题先自己想办法解决，在不断的自我解决问题中，你才能获得更大的进步。还有，请学会如何问问题，在坛子里面问问题要力求简洁明了，没有人有那么多的时间去理解你的问题，不要发例如“十万火急”“高手请进”类似题目的名字，请用最简单的话描述你的问题作为帖子的题目这样更妥当。

3，工具论，没有最好只有自己喜欢
看到很多人上手就用JB，我认为这是不好的，从最简单的记事本开始，能够让你真正了解JAVA的程序构成。JB自动生成的代码太多，做了很多你自己不知道的事情。另外Eclipse也不错。
2008-09-11：现在的工具虽然很强大，比如Eclipse，Netbeans，但是作为一个新手，可能一上来不知道如何入手，建议看看很多现有的指南或者是Quick Start，基本每个工具都自带。当你用工具写一个简单的类都出问题，或者写一个简单的JSP页面都有问题，那么你应该首先确定是不是你正确的使用了工具。

4，认证论
很多人盲目的去考认证，然后还喜欢问到底认证有没有用阿。认证不是目的，只是一个手段，你终究能掌握多少知识运用到实际中才是王道。

5，盲目贪大
现在开口闭口J2EE，我不是说不好，不要一入手就贪大贪全，从基础开始踏实的一步一步来，J2EE的体系不是那么的简单，不是单纯的JSP，在很多人脑子中精通了JSP似乎就离J2EE不远了。

废话就说这么多，大家拍砖吧！！

当然，一开始如果先能概览一下J2EE，然后再把各部分逐一研究，也是不错的。

苦苦的等了 12 个小时后才能来喷口水。
哈``发了几句牢骚还请见量。偶也来发表点愚见吧。
本人学习JAVA也不过是一、二个月而已，现在工作也是在用JAVA。在身边的同事不乏有很多高手和能人，时间久了也从他们身上偷来少许的经验（偷的最多的就是Ctrl+C、Ctrl+V）哈哈```。
其实在本人认为JAVA也无非不过是一种编程语言而已。只不过它更能贴进于我们这个现实、自然的世界（例如：类产生了对象、父亲生出了儿子……）。简单的语法结构在加上仅仅还不到百个的特殊关键字，难道这比我们上学时候天天要背的那些英语单词和句型还要难嘛？呵呵`````，也许有的人不同意我的意见。但我想说是，JAVA不过是一种编程工具，编程工具也有很多中（像 C、C++、.NET……）所有的编程语言都不难学，学会学不会只是个时间问题而已。但是所有的编程语言最“难”的地方并不是它的语法有多么复杂，关键字有多么的多！而是编程人思想的宝贵。给大家举个例子吧：就拿我们的汉字来说，汉字的最地层是什么。是拼音吧，当然你也可以说是偏旁部首，无论是拼音还是偏旁部首它们的数量都是有限的，这就像编程语言中的关键字特殊字一样。我们会将这些拼音在逐一的组合成汉字，将汉字组成词汇、成语等，在将词汇和成语组成句型，句型组成文章。编程也是这样，特定的东西就那么几个，我们按照一些规则来组和或转化成最后我们想要的东西。但是在这组合和转化的过程中就需要编程人来自己想和思考，应该怎么操作，怎么搭配才合理。你不能把“一马当先”搭配成“二马当先”、你不能把“恭喜发财”搭配成“恭喜发穷”，为什么不能想必我就不用在这里废话了吧。
跟 JAVA 打了一年的交道，我自己总结出来一条公式：思想+经验=程序

我也是一新手，才接触java，不过我觉得学java 不能忘了c++，两者还是有许多相同之处，相互对照有很多收获了，如java 的引用类型变量和c++的指针

簡單而言，
基礎Java要穩固－－GUI, threading, IO等比較少用，因為主要是server side和用了web/application server
肯多啃書，多啃documentation，能夠直接解讀API doc
對IDE的操作熟悉，熟習測試和偵錯（這些是任何編程的基礎吧）
基本的html語法和sql/database，一些design patterns（都不是prerequisite，但到頭來還是要懂）

建议把资料单独放在一个文件夹或是话题中，最好是经典的，不经典的不给保留Smile
